Original Post Office Boxes Salvaged From Lake Toxaway
Post Office in North Carolina
Camp letters have a long history of being cherished. Whether they are simple sweet notes, telling of new accomplishments, or the attempted explanation of a crazy camp tradition, these letters are destined from the start to be stored in mothers' sock drawers for decades.

Not sure what I mean? Click the link to view a particularly hilarious camp letter! This kid wrote the best letter from camp EVER!

The Mail Room at Windy
Gap Weaverville, NC
Often the camp mail room is off limits to campers, hidden in the back of the staff lounge or office. But why? Camp provides the opportunity for kids to practice the dying art of letter writing, so why not celebrate it! One camp does just this. Windy Gap in Weaverville, NC has designed their mail room to look like an old-time post office.

The Mailroom is a perfect opportunity for design creativity at camp. It also makes a great stop on a camp tour, creating a chance to explain to parents one more example of how attending camp can benefit their children.
